Review - A spotless, knowledgable market place for healthy living. Affiliated with the people who run the equally well-run Delite food market up the street, everything is always well stocked, as fresh as can be, and there is always plenty of friendly staff around to assist. The juice bar is great for a pick-me-up while browsing the sumptous aisles of organic, and ethnic finds.

Review - Always a pleasure to shop at Basic Foods. It's anything but basic with high quality, reasonably priced organic items. Juice bar is delicious and healthy, the vitamin and supplement section is well-manned, and there's a wonderful assortment of environmentally safe soaps, detergents, home remedies, etc... The loyal staff bends over backwards to help shoppers, and if an item isn't available, and there's a market for it, they will (or have, for me, in the past) ordered it.

Review - THIS PLACE is FANTASTIC. It has almost everything you can imagine. Organic produce,vegan/vegetarian beauty care products, vitamins and supplements. Wide array of organic groceries. IT is simply marvelous. The Staff are always pleasant and are very knowledgable. I live in JErsey City and i make sure to travel to Hoboken for their wonderful products.

Review - This is a vegetarian or vegan paradise. It's amazing how much organic and how many supplements they can fit into their space. If you're looking for Dr. Bonner's soaps, high quality beef jerky (vegan too), coconut oil, tamarind sauce, or grade A maple syrup, Basic has it and more

Review - I have been shopping at Basic Foods for almost 2 years. I go there for the extensive organic produce, quality supplements, and other goods (cereal, pasta, sauce, frozen, prepared foods, etc.) I know what I buy there is quality merchandise and I feel good about supporting a local grocer. Give them a try and get to know the people in there. My experience has been they are able to answer all my questions, and provide a level of service that cannot be matched anywhere else (Garden of Eden, A&P, Shop Rite, etc.)

Review - A gem in northern jersey. A great, less expensive alternative to Whole Foods, and more healthy than Trader Joes. Great for folks with allergies and special dietary needs! Very vegan/vegetarian/natural home friendly.

Review - This place has a large selection of Gluten Free products and the products are always fresh. The hours are convenient but parking can be difficult at times.

Review - This place is great. A true gem! I live two towns away in north bergen and I drive to hoboken just to buy at Basic Foods. Great vegan/healthy organic selection and friendly staff. Never disappoints! Their juice bar is excellent. Support Basic Foods, you will not be disappointed.

Review - Their prices are reasonable for the low-demand-organic sector of the food industry.
Their Aisles are a little tight.
Their produce is always fresh but I only go there to buy organic cookies!!!
I like the staff there, very courteous and helpful.
As far as i'm concerned they have a great selection of Olive Oil. Although, garden of eden has a wider selection, their prices are higher.

Review - A really good selection, attentive staff, decent prices. A real treasure for Hoboken. The way things are going for Washington Street, though, there'll probably be a Claire's Accessories there in another year.

Review - If you are in Hoboken area, including Jersey City, and want to have organic foods and/or health-conscious foods, this is the right place. I am going to only two stores, this Basic Foods and Whole Foods Market, for organic foods. Other stores are thieves, ripping off your wallets. Because Whole Foods Markets are huge francise, I should admit they offer very cheap (usually cheapest) price for most of organic foods. But, sometimes you can find better deals from Basic Foods or at least their prices are not too far from WFM. If you can drive up to Edgewater, you can go to WFM. But, if you want to shop around this Hoboken area, this is the one you should go to. (Last tip: Don't go to Garden of Eden just one block north of this store. If you see the price tag for the same product in BF and GE, you'll know the difference, usually 30% higher in GE. But, BF don't sell much of fresh meat or fish, so for those kinds of shopping, you have to go to GE, if you don't want to go to any of just ordinary markets such as Kings, A&P, ShopRite, etc.)
