Review - Ate here last night and was really hoping to get some good food. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I had hoped. I ordered chuletas fritas, something I've had at many Dominican restaurants, and they were over fried and super salty. Easy on the Sazon guys! The red beans were ok, nothing special and the empanadas were ok. Really, none of the food stood out for me. I can cook better fried porkchops and better rice and beans at home.

Review - This place has the real-deal Dominican flavor! I speak Spanish so I didn't have any communication problems, everyone was really laid back and friendly. There was a woman there who did speak perfect English though.
I had the Pollo Guisado con arroz y abichuela. If you are new to Dominican food, I highly suggest ordering this, it is a staple. I look forward to trying the bacalao (salted fish in a tomatoe sauce)The food was very good.

Review - Oh my god. The pernil is sooo good. We go every Friday for lunch and order the same exact thing. Each time I say to myself, hmmm I bet that the fish is delicious, or that fried chicken or mfongo, but, am I willing to not Pernil today, uh uh
The best food, the best prices, great staff.

Review - I can't imagine why anyone would think this place has good food. The rices and the beans are very bland and greasy. The pork is bland overly greasy. The empanadas are so greasy they have gien me stomach aches. I have tried this place different times, being PR I wanted to find a place with good rice and beans. This isn't it.

Review - I am a Tech consultant situated temporarily on a project in JC. This is the FIRST GOOD LUNCH I have eaten since crossing the river! Yes, as the last reviewer said, very authentic, and no, not much english is spoken there. But so what! The food and atmosphere is authentic as any dominican type restaurant that a NYer is accustomed to. Think GOOD FOOD and LARGE PORTIONS at EXCELLENT PRICES (ie washington heights or roosevelt ave). The Pernil is great, the Carne Guisada also good, rice and beans not commercial tasting. YOU WILL ENJOY THE FOOD HERE! At lunch it is a bit hectic, but great for bringing back to the office and hearing Hey, where did you get that from! Do you have a copy of the menu!! and yes, they do deliver, but only within a 5 block radius.
