Review - Arthur's is a real treasure in Hoboken. Sure you can get a good steak a few other places, but this is Steakhouse! Every table starts off with complimentary pickles, tomatoes, peppers and sauerkraut. What class! Unfortunately, that's about where it stops. The spartan decor can be forgiven for the restaurant's nature, but not the styrofoam plates. Service is decent for a steakhouse, but certainly nothing special - that's left for the food.

Their 24oz. Delmonico Rib-Eye can be a bit gristly, but is juicy, packed with flavor, and always cooked to order, plus it comes with some pretty decent home fries. If you want the perfect steak, you'll have to go to Manhattan or to Peter Luger's for a dry-aged porterhouse, but Arthur's isn't trying to compete with those $40/steak bigboys. Afterall, a side of onions (greasy, not caramelized) is a mere 99 cents! Add in a side of mushrooms (greasy but cooked just right) and you've get yourself a great meal. Although not as perfect as their signature steak, Arthur's offers excellent burgers, ribs and a slew of decent deli sandwiches, not to mention their specials.

My only real gripe with Arthur's is that their wine and beer menus leave much to be desired. The wine list is (barely) passable, but like everything else, extremely well priced.

Review - cheap and cheeful!!

Do not go here if you want a lovely, romantic, or elegant dinner!
I was quite shocked by the roughness of the place (paper plates, pickles on the tables!)..as I wasn't expecting it... but once you get used to the idea of the place... it's great value...and yummy steak!..I wasn't keen on the potatoes or the lettuce with bleu cheese...but the steak alone was delicious, and was enough to fill me up on it's own!.. I'd recommend it for a cheap steak out!

Review - Ahhh Hoboken's Famous Arthurs... The big debate being how good their steaks are. Well, not to be a steak connoisseur, which i'm not... but their steaks are damn good. So is there cheeseburgers and the potatoes too. But what's even more impressive is their chocolate mousse pie. Busy place, love the giant life size beer mug to drink from. All in all, a good place to eat esp. if u wanna impress someone kinda sorta taking the cheap way out.

Review - I know this is a steak restaurant, but you should try the rack of ribs - fantastic. They must come from one hell of a pig, as the hang over each end of the plate and the flavour is superb. I would recommend trying the ribs to anyone.

Review - I came here few years back with my girlfriend and the steak is great and the price is unbeatable.

We are now married and we came back this past Friday night and the steak is still excellent. And as for the price, it's still unbeatable.

Review - I don't understand the adulation for Arthur's steaks. The first time I ate there it was about 1/3 gristle and fat, although nicely-cooked and a little spicey. I tried again a couple of weeks later - the same thing. The potatos are something either you love or hate - but the claim that the steaks are great seems odd. They remind me of my days as a poor grad student when all I could afford were Tad's steaks (for $4.95).

Review - Great Steak!!!! Two versions 24 ounce and 48 ounce. The large beers are also awsome. If you can sit outside do so because the scenery in the summertime is outstanding!

Review - This place is great. Only one setback. You have to go straight for the steak and skip any appetizer. You'll need the room!

Review - The main reason to come to Arthurs is for the 24 oz. Rib Eye steak that comes with a side of red-skin potatoes. Order a wedge of lettuce with blue cheese crumbles, have a pint of Bass Ale with a Manhattan chaser, what could be better?
