Not legally...but lots of people do it illegally. But since these are private streets if you are caught, they don't ticket you, they tow you.

Make sure your vehicle has a security system with motion sensor that alerts your cell phone.
That way you can do the same thing as what this person did. |

If you have a liberty harbor address you can NOT get a zone parking permit for Jersey City. I have tried many times. The liberty harbor area is deemed as "private land" by the parking authority and will not issue a street parking permit. I was told once the land is all developed it will then be turned over to jersey city and from there it will become a new zone with city parking permits.

You can park on tidewater. Just not where there are yellow or red lines.

Have you tried suing Jersey City? Can they collect property tax while denying a street parking permit?

I live in the Brownstones on Grand Street and was able to get a parking permit. Zone 3 though!!! So i have to walk all the way to Essex and back every day to move my car to the other side of the street... There is zone 1 parking RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DOOR!!!
That being said, I'm going back to JCNB parking next month. It is sadly worth the $125/month |
