Review - Many other restaurants in Hoboken claim to have good food and charge exuberant prices for bar food - The Dining Room is quite expensive for Hoboken but they actually serve good food. Ingredients are different, inventive, and fresh. The appetizers were incredible (potato / onion / prosciutto tart), and the entrees were mixed. Mine, tortellini in a cream / mushroom / pea sauce with prosciutto was amazing but that's hard to mess up. However, the lobster risotto dish was okay, tasted a little fishy and was weak on the amount of lobster. Desserts were incredible - BYOB (in case you didn't bring, they will actually give you a wine menu and a local wine shop will deliver you a bottle for regular retail price!) Will certianly go back - hoping to try brunch too.

Review - Hands down the best dining in Hoboken! The service is always excellent and the food leaves us wondering why we ever visit any other restaurant in town. Chef Anthony Pina has been catering my frequent business events this year as well. I can count on his staff being professional and accommodating. The event food is fresh, innovative and consistent just like the Dining Room experience. The extensive brunch menu is also a winner especially when you can enjoy the morning sitting outside and taking in the local brownstone streetscape devoid of chain stores and Washington Street hubbub.

Review - Anthony Pina brings an authentic generational Italian sense to uptown Hoboken - his grandmother's cassolete, Bolognese (so good we also ordered it for desert), risotto, lobster salad, all show why it received a very good from NY Times. Split interior, Dining Room with warm couches, or front dinner bistro, offer approach to different folks. BYOB helps always.

Review - If you have a great bottle of wine you want to have with excellent food this is the place. Food is delicious and cheese selection rivals some of Manhattan's restaurants at this level. Decor is quaint and staff are friendly and efficient.

Review - Even though the service isn't the most attentive, the food is consistently good. I've been here for dinner and brunch. The tasting menu at dinner is a great value and delicious. Off the a la carte menu, I recommend the scallops. The brunch is easily the best in Hoboken if you're looking for a non-greasy spoon diner experience. Up until last weekend, my favorite was the flank steak (either steak and eggs or as a sandwich). Absolutely tender, juicy, and flavorful! BUT then I discovered the French toast! I am extremely critical of French toast. It's my favorite brunch dish but I never order it because it's always disappointing. Not here. Perfect French toast - not too moist, not too dry, crispy buttery first bite that's followed by a flavorful brioche. The sugared coconut flakes are a delicious complement.

Review - We started with a cheese selection- delicious. Next, we had the potato, onion, and prosciutto tart- right on! I ordered the lobster risotto, which I couldn't finish because I kept digging into my husband's truffle risotto which he describes as heavenly. We were too stuffed for dessert at this point and it was very hard for us to turn down the homemade donuts that everyone raves about. We can't wait to go back. We are already planning with friends for next weekend!

Review - My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here - we both ordered the tasting menu. Everything was excellent. the way they transform the restaurant from brunch setting to dinner was quite dramatic. In fact, all they did was turn off the lights and add candles - makes a difference. The food was excellent - and the tasting menu was a nice change for a special occasion. We took 2 bottles of wine and enjoyed an amazing banana dessert (it's HUGE). I can't wait to go back.

Review - I have been to almost every restaurant in Hoboken and The food at Anthony David's is by far the best in town. It is on the expensive site but it is also a BYOB. You are going to spend more at any other restaurant in Hoboken because you are paying $30 for a $10 bottle that isn't even that good. If you want a great meal, every time, this is the best place in town.

Review - I've never eaten dinner here before but this is my favorite brunch spot in Hoboken. I've eaten brunch here at least 20 times over the past few years and I have enjoyed every bite of it. I keep meaning to come here to sample the dinner menu but each time that I've made a point to go there, it has been without reservations and the place was packed. One of these days I'll get there for dinner but if you are looking for a good sunday brunch, this is the place.

Review - To be honest, the food is great to good but not amazing. They need to work on consistency and flavor. I experienced a very salty dinner and sent it back. The salad was also extremely over flavored with vinegar. You could spend a bit more in the city at a fancy restaurant and get amazing food. The chef has great ideas in types of food.

Review - We LOVE this place and go there all the time! The food is fab, atmosphere is casual, and the service is phenomenal. We especially love the server Joseph, he is fantastic and makes the evening special & more fun - definitely ask to be seated in his section. He's the reason we keep going back, again and again.

Review - I think it's time they update their menu-it's been the same for about 4 years. Our appitizers were delicious..we had the roasted Autum vegetables which consisted of grilled butternut squash, artichokes, fennel, and brussel sprouts. It had excellent flavor, was well presented, and was not too oily. The beet salad was delicious as well with a sophisticated presentation on the plate not found at other Hoboken restaurants. The duck breast with sour cherries and pumpkin polenta was enjoyable and makes Anthony David's stand out from other restaurants in town. It's a 4 star dish and a must if you like duck. The lobster rissoto with saffron and peas was a dissapointment. The rissoto was cooked perfectly, but the whole dish was bland. It reminded me of that instant cheese and broccoli rice. It was so underseasoned that a 3 year old would eat it. Dessert was nothing special, it's clear they don't have a pastry chef.

If you get lucky and order the right things it can be a 4 star dining experience. I'm thankful we have such a sophisticated restaurant in town-very creative menu, cozy atmosphere, and excellent service.

Review - Some friends swear by this place, but I can't help but think that part of it might be the BYOB factor: big to help reduce the price of a night out on the town.

Hubby and I have been thrice now, and the first time, with big fans we were quite thrilled as well.

After two consecutive returns however, we have ascertained that perhaps our tastebuds were influenced by the preprandrial drinks consumed before entering the restaurant.

The food is fair, but quite over-priced considering that there's no huge looming liquor fee. Most BYOB's in town are significantly cheaper that those who opt to pay the gargantuan liquor fee in order to reel in and retain Hoboken's drinking crowds.

Review - this place is WAY overrated. the food is just OK, portions are tiny, and the restaurant is way too cramped. the only plus was that it was BYOB. for the city prices, i would have expected great food.

Review - Their food is fantastic- but don't even think of getting it delivered. Once I ordered breakfast and sat at home for an hour waiting for it to arrive. Really f'd up my day. The delivery guy only speaks spanish, and whoever is taking the orders can't communicate the correct address to him.

Then I mustered up some courage to order lunch. Well, I was starving, called and told them what kind of sanwich I wanted, told them my place of business, and waited. And waited. No sandwich. I call and the guy tells me, oh yeah we are out of the bread you want and the turkey has mold on it. So basically I was waiting and nearly starved to death.

Review - good to very good food. service is decent to good at best. absolutely puzzling why they would choose not to accept reservations on the weekends--it is BYOB afterall and there is no place to even sit down and drink the wine/beer you have brought while waiting. so you wind up waiting around in everyone's way.

Review - Although we keep going back again and again, the reservation/no reservation/reservation only for select people policy is growing a bit tiring. We went on a Friday night when the back room was not even being used. We were shown to our table and meerly asked to be seated at the next table over, which we were told was being reserved. However, we were also told that the policy is no reservations on Friday or Saturday night. The hostess just rolled her eyes and needless to say, the table we wanted to sit at was unoccupied the entire 2 and a half hours we were having our meal. I am afraid that after going here for years, this place is getting a NYC attitude, which is quite disappointing. The food is so good, and the BYOB policy is great, but its days as a neighborhood place are over.

Review - Phenomenal! I’ve only had the best food and experience here. We went for our Anniversary and they treated us very special. The wait staff is very professional and the food is fantastic. I love the BYOB aspect since you don’t feel like you are spending too much.

Review - FYI - DO not base going there on the menu on their website. It's completely outdated and has been for at least a year. When we went, were completely shocked to sit down to $25+ entree's when we were expecting the average to be about $15 based on their website. Poor customer experience - they obviously don't care.
