Review - This is by the the BEST sushi in Hoboken. I have yet to have something that isn't great. Service is good and the decor is great. The special rolls are out of this world.

Review - The sushi is fresh and the service is good. There are a slew of sushi bars in Hoboken, many of which do no serve fresh sushi and are loud. Maru is a welcome change to the newer, trendier sushi houses.

Review - We LOVE this place and the people here too. Sometimes we have been known to go twice a week. Their food is fabulous, and service is fantastic. Their bento box specials are an extremely good value, and their sushi and sashimi are to die for, very fresh and flavorful, beautifully presented. Favorites include: salmon, white tuna, and yellowtail from the belly. I have been to some of the trendier places in Hoboken, all you get is a lot more noise, smaller portions, and food that isn't nearly as good, for a much higher price. We have brought many people here with very discerning palates, they all agree, Maru is the best!

Review - Sushi is the freshest I have ever tasted! Always great service. Whether you want to dine and relax or get in and out quickly, the staff alway accomodates you.
If you are a sushi lover, you have not tasted sushi until you've been to Maru!!

Review - My husband and I have just moved into Hoboken from NYC. We have eaten at most of all the sushi restaurants in Hoboken before we found this winner! Their fish is fresh and the presentations of the dishes are very impressive. Also the prices are great! This is by far the BEST sushi restaurant in Hoboken.

Review - I was a tourist in Hoboken. I had taken the train to Washington Ave and I wanted sushi. Maru appears to be the only pure Japanese restaurant, the others are asian mixes. It appears everyone who works at Maru speaks Japanese, and I thought they were really nice. The decor is simple, but it's a small restaurant and the service is good. The main thing is that Maru's sushi is great.

Review - Sushi and other menu items (tempura, teriyaki, etc.)are always fresh and delicious. Bento boxes are creatively presented and very tasty. Nice service and tranquil atmosphere. Highly recommend dinner at Maru.

Review - Excellent authentic Japanese atmosphere, unlike some of the trendy other places. Food is delicious (love the sushi/sashimi boat for 2. Weekend lunch/brunch special an incredible deal. Service is top notch. If you like REAL brewed green tea, this is the place for you. BYOB a plus as well.
