Review - Gold Coast has friendly members and staff with sufficient space for numerous machines. Due to work relocations this is my eighth gym. This club is not fancy, located below ground level, but caters to basic work-out needs. Free towel service and coffee help. The primary weakness during my membership has been maintenance. Lengthy periods of time to fix equipment or plumbing (showers, water fountain). Overall, however, I would recommend to others as a good value for the money and convenient for parking and PATH.

Review - I checked out a lot of gyms in JC before joining Gold Coast. Great place, great people, great price! Everyone I've met is welcoming, open and friendly. The facility isn't huge, but they have plenty of space for free weights, machines and programs. The locker rooms are clean. The price is pretty good, considering that other places nearby charge the same and don't offer any programs at all.
My only complaint...the place does smell a little sweaty when you walk in. I guess it IS a gym after all! Nothing a little ventilation or air freshener couldn't solve though.

Review - I been going to gold coast for about a year. I used to workout gym across street but I felt like I was just a number in their database. But then a friend told me about Gold Coast. This was a completely different experience. Staff is friendly and knows my name. All the member are respectful to each other. Just like their marketing motto friendliest gym in town fits right into their reputation. You can visit any day, Carmine will greet you with big smile and everyone likes that. I am getting married and have move to another state but I will remember all the kindness and warmth they have shown me at there. So THANK YOU Carmine and gold coast staff!

Review - Gold Coast Fitness is such a wonderful gym. I've been a member since I moved to JC and I absolutely love it. The staff is so friendly and helpful (especially Carmine and Juan)! They really care about how you're enjoying the place, making sure you're doing everything right, and helping you get the most out of the place. I only wish I had more time to go!

Review - If you are looking for a new gym and you don't want to pay a fortune, stop looking Gold Coast Fitness Center is your place. I moved from Montreal Canada to Jersey City 6 months ago and I was shopping for gym. I saw Gold Coast Fitness Center on Neward and I decided to go and see. It's not the best looking place but the level of customer service really makes it up for the rest. Staff and other members are super friendly and always ready to help. It really makes the difference and you actually enjoy going there every day to have a good workout.

Review - I just celebrated one year with this gym and can attest to all the positive reviews: great staff; clean facility; friendly management and clients; more than adequate equipment; can't beat the price. If I had one complaint/annoyance, it would be that the music from the aerobics class during the weeknights can be a bit loud, drowning out your own iPod. Other than that, I'm a very satisfied customer.

Review - I have been a member for two years and I have had an very positive experience at Gold Coast. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to go out of their way to assist members. Also, Gold Coast has all of the necessary equipment for a great resistance training or cardio routine. It may not be fancy but I would highly recommend Gold Coast to anyone!

Review - I recently came out to Jersey City for a few weeks, and was looking for a health club to visit while in town.. I called around to various clubs and was not very impressed. However, with Gold Coast from the initial phone consultation, to directions on how to find the fitness center, etc.. I was met with nothing but friendliness, patience, and overall exceptional customer service. Upon visiting the fitness center I was met with friendly staff and members... and a small, but comprehensive facility, with new equipment. I am very impressed with the owner Carmine, Juan, and the entire operation at Gold Coast. Next time you are in town as a visitor (from an IHRSA participating club), check out Gold Coast first!

They make you feel like they care about your health and happiness, which is probably the greatest thing a gym can offer. I highly recommend the Spin class and training with Juan--he's amazing!

Review - This is one of the friendliest clubs I have ever belonged to. The staff is great and are very welcoming. Mustafa does an excellent job at keeping the facilities clean. I used to be a fitness advisor at Ohio State University's new fitness facility and the level of cleanliness compared to Gold Coast doesn't even match up (not one particle of dust!) Review - Hey I love this gym, everyone is very professional and friendly, the equipment is always clean and in order, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There is even one particularly charming guy there by the name of Mustafa who exemplifies all that is good about Jersey city, the guy has been with the gym for 8 years and his hard work and dedication to the facility is probably one of the reasons you will find it hard to look for another gym once you join this one. Review - The first thing I noticed about this gym was that all ages and types of people were working out there. The next thing I noticed was the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Once I started working out with Juan, an employee of the gym and a fantastic personal trainer, I was hooked! He has helped me to transform my body in a way that did not aggravate old injuries, but left me stronger and more confident than ever. The fact that the gym is clean, and there is always new equipment to train on is another huge plus. I recommend this gym to everyone (although maybe I shouldn't, because I also love the fact that it's never really crowded!)

Review - I've been a member oc Gold Coast about 2 yesrs and right from the start Carmine and his knowledgeable staff have been curtious, kind, and helpful from day one. Price, value, and modern facility are unmatched. Who needs a gym that signs you up and you get lost in the mix when they take your money. Not here, the gym is tight, clean, lockers are the same. You get a feeling of belonging and a place that you want to work out in. Not to mention that we grew up together Downtown JC Carmine and his staff are a class act! Keep up the great work!

Review - In today's age of overpriced and overcrowded corporate gyms, Gold Coast Fitness is a refreshing throwback. The gym’s environment, equipment and staff are all conducive for consistent quality workouts. GC offers all of the machines and free weights necessary for consistent high-intensity cardio and strength training workouts.
Perhaps the greatest quality of this gym is its cleanliness, which is clearly a top priority for owner Carmine and staff member Mustafa. The locker rooms, floors and equipment are consistently cleaned and maintained to make GC a comfortable and motivating place to work out. It's also a pleasure to chat with any of the staff members, who are genuinely nice individuals who take pride in their work and in their facility.
I was previously a member of New York Sports Club for 8 years and I do not miss it at all now that I've found this terrific and unique gym.

Review - This gym rocks! I joined wanting to get in shape but didn't know where to begin. They give you a consultation when you join, and help you along the way -- all included in your monthly fees. The staff is great. Carmine, the owner, is always making improvements to the facility.

One thing I would recommend is for Carmine to provide the members w/ toiletries in the bathroom (such as a deodorant, lotion, etc).

Review - My one year at Gold Coast was extremely pleasant. What attracted my girlfriend and I was the friendly staff that treated us like family! We had just moved in to Jersey City and the Gold Coast staff made us feel welcomed unlike the gym across the street. Juan is the gentleman who introduced us to the facility and he was very courteous and non-pushy. Carmine, the owner, brought energy to the gym which I think rubbed off on people since many of us need energy when going there after work. The facility itself is not glamorous but it does have all the essentials to complete a thorough work out. The location is also convenient! If you are looking for a good price, friendly staff, and a complete gym, look no further but Gold Coast.

Review - The vibe at Gold Coast is friendly and down to earth. The staff pro-actively offer tips. The staff are real people that have made fitness their career, not just a place to daydream about their next move.
That positive attitude makes all the difference. The place across the street is cleaner, but has no soul.
The equipment is standard.
I deducted 2 points from the product because I think the gym could use a bit of fresh paint.

Review - I have been a member at Gold Coast Fitness Center for four years, upon moving to Jersey City. Having been a member of Health Clubs previously, changing a gym is not an easy task. During my trial period, I quickly felt quite comfortable in the company of other members and utilizing equipment provided.
Excellent training is offered and Carmine (the gym owner) is the best host I have come across. He is quite attentive to members needs. He is an authority on nutrition, as well as muscle training and all aspects of physical fitness. Bottom line: Where Carmine goes, I go.
Vast improvements and Betterment's have been made, including equipment, more classes and the overall face of the gym.
I would recommend Gold Coast Fitness Center to anyone who is interested in a serious workout in a very comfortable environment.

Review - Goldcoast gym is in a great location with a great staff. The recent upgrades have added to the gyms overall quality. The operating hours are very accomadating, and there is little to no wait for machines. I definitely recommend Goldcoast over any other Jersey City gyms.

Review - Just as the title indicates, Gold Coast Gym is the frendliest gym in Jersey City. It's the first gym i joined in the USA and i think the personal classes and training fitness is wonderfully designed! Grate place, excellent customer service. They keep up to customer's expectations. Review - We have been members since 2000. We are moving outta JC now and would just like to let everyone know about our Gym. I gotta say that it's hard enough getting my wife to go to the gym, but this gym made her feel comfortable. Plus there were plenty of classes and the staff was always very nice and helpful. She began to want to go very soon after we joined. I liked it since there was plenty of equipment for me. Plus the other customers were very cool, which is a plus. Anyway were sorry we gotta leave were gunna miss this place.

Review - Before joining Gold Coast Fitness I looked at a lot of gyms and did trial weeks at them. NOTHING compared to Gold Coast. Every member is friendly and the trainers are the best. The workers at Gold Coast help you when ever you need and take the time to train with you when you need them. It's the BEST gym I've ever been to.

Review - I have been a member of Carmine’s Gym for a very long time. I can say that he runs a very good, clean and friendly gym facility. With the recent renovations to the gym, one gets a very warm and friendly feeling walking downstairs. The gym is illuminated nicely with new hardwood floors. The gym is clean and there is someone always there to help you with questions on your workouts or the correct use of the various machines. His staff is very knowledgeable on how to optimize your workout and get the best results that you are looking for in a gym. I should know; the reason is that I have worked out with the owner and the staff for many years. My view is only one person’s perspective, to really appreciate this gym; one has to visit this place and workout. The proof and results are in each person and the gym. So I encourage everyone to come, visit and join the Gold Coast Fitness Center.

Review - I just recently started at the Gold Coast Fitness Center and found it to be great. The staff are quite friendly and they offer a variety of cardiovascular machines and weights (both freeweights and universals), as well as classes. The gym is open early enough for me to get in before work and late enough, just in case evenings are better per my schedule. I would definitely recommend the Gold Coast Fitness Center to my friends and colleagues.

Review - I moved to Jersey City from Manhattan and checked out all of the gyms in a 5 mile radius. Gold Coast got my membership because of their knoledgable and welcoming staff. The owner, Carmine, runs a tight ship. The place is not fancy but always clean thanks to Moufasa.
Carmine has a tremendous background in nutrition and was a competiive bodybuilder for many years. The training staff are highly educated, and humble. This is especally surprising to me because one is an highly traned olympic athlete and the trainer I work with Otto, is a multiple bodybuilding champion as well as being highly educated in physiology and several personal training disciplines. I have worked with several high profile trainers in my lifetime, but no kidding, Otto is the best. The other in house trainer, Juan, has a professional boxing background and also just won trophies in the masters division from two different competitions this year...his first time trying.
The gym environment calls me to continue to improve my physical health and fitness.
Needless to say, I like this gym.

Review - Regretably I had to cancel my membership because I changed jobs. Carmine handled my cancellation professionally, courteously and generously -- he waived the $50 cancellation fee. During my three years of membership, I found the gym to be always clean, welcoming, friendly and supportive. I thought that the sending of a postcard if you stopped going for a couple of weeks was a nice touch. The rates are reasonable. I don't think that I will easily find a comparable facility.

Review - Have to admit, I'm here because I like the staff....I could join any gym here or in NYC, but Carmine, Otto & Juan are too cool to leave behind. I can't stand, however, the members who come in wearing street clothes (jeans, sandals,workboots) in spite of Carmine's No Street Clothes Allowed rule and the ones who blast the fans so high that you cant break a sweat on the treadmill or elipticals!...ITS A *&@!&% GYM..you're supposed to sweat!!!

Review - First and foremost I was very impressed with the staff at Gold Coast. The are a well trained machine. The follow up I received by my 3rd day of my guest pass was such a nice phone call. Needless to say I did join before my trial periode was up and I am glad to be a part of that adorable family atmosphere your staff creates. The staff is sweet and helpful and go out of there way to help with anything. I met the owner Carmine and now I can tell where the staff gets its charisma from. Review - I just recently joined this gym after trying the 5 day trial and because of the service I joined right away. The staff are extremely nice, especially Mustafa and Carmine. They are both extremely professional and very friendly. It's not your typical type of gym..it's not like a workout factory or a he-man type of gym...it actually feels homey. It's not too big...and not too small either. It's definitely bigger than the gym across the street. I've been here only 3-4 times and already I feel comfortable. There's different types of equipment, all in decent shape. And all of the times I've been there, there's always a machine available. Great place!

Review - I've been a member for a few years and I must say ALMOST everything is perfect. The staff is superb, the coffee is hot, and the floor is clean...that's all I need, and for the gym to be OPEN! My only complaint is: CHOOSE TO BE OPEN OR CLOSED ON OBSCURE HOLIDAYS!!! Why are the gym hours cut on holidays like Presidents or Columbus Day? Some of the members have to work on these days and it would be nice if the gym was open early morning or late night...not 9am-6pm, besides, some of us do not change our exercise schedules because of a holiday. Cutting hours should equal cutting dues, we pay money for this gym to be open, so that is my only gripe. Can you please post the Arbor Day hours in advance....Thanx...

Review - I've been a member of this gym for almost 2 years now. I like the owner Carmine and his crew. The crew are very cool and are always willing to help members with any problems they may have. Mo does a wonderful job cleaning up the place, considering some of the members are '' slobs ''. I do have ONE major issue with this gym. They allow members to workout in their street clothes. I've seen guys workout in slacks, button down shirts, army boots, baggy jean, cargoshort/pants and even flipflops !!!!!! I almost died when I saw this member running on the threadmill in his flipflops. Carmin posted a sign stating NO JEANS ALLOWED...but yet they dont do anything about it. I don't know any gym that would allow this to happen. Sometimes this gym doesnt feel like a '' gym '' .

Review - Gold Coast is the best place in Jersey to go. You will feel welcome right away, the staff and club members are very open and supportive. This GYM is not the kind of NYSC workout factory - it has community feeling, it is your home gym. it has also lot's of programs to choose from, so - Good Luck!

Review - Very nice staff. Some of the machines are old and there are some machines that they need to buy (hamstring curl, t-bar row). Overall this is a good gym and if you are comparing it to Synergy there is no question Gold Coast is the way to go.

Review - This is a question rather than an opinion - can anyone tell me what the costs are for this gym? I would like to join one in Jersey City but don't want to pay a fortune and a long contract because I find gyms boring but necessary (to my waistline anyway) and I'm not sure how strong my stamina is. Review - I've been a member of Goldcoast for over 3 years. In that time, the quality of the club has declined. They use to have a cleaning crew come weekly. Now the staff cleans it. It really doesn't get as clean now. Things are overlooked. And the decor leaves ALOT to be desired. The reason this gym is better than synergy, and the boxing gym, are by default. Synergy doesn't have much space, or classes. And the boxing gym is far out of the way. Goldcoast needs a overhaul.

Review - I love Gold Coast! While the space is nothing glamorous, the staff are the nicest, friendliest, most-helpful people around. They greet you with a smile and are ready to help you with anything. The classes are great, especially the abs class! There is generally a new piece of equipment every month. All the other members seem to be friendly, even though most people keep to themselves. I'm proud to be a member!

Review - And yes you stand behind your slogan the friendliest gym in town Cause you are by far. From meeting your memebers whether on the treadmill or on the mahines I know I made the right decision when I crossed the street from the other gym across the way. Your staff is extremely helpful and well trained, it makes me get up early and with ambition to workout. Thanks for creating a happy and healthy atmosphere. Keep up the good work I know I will now that I have joined this fine establishment.
