Review - this place rules! the best old school ice cream shop in town! try the blackberry ice cream! and they have peanut butter sauce which is hard to come by! its a traditional old fashioned ice cream parlor with a million flavors and nice people working there. there is also a ride up window if you are on your bike or with your dog. a little pricey, but sometimes they have coupons in the mail. definitely a place i bring out of towners.

Review - I've always walked past Torico's when I come to Jersey City, but I never walked in. Friday afternoon it was open and I was with my boyfriend who loves the place, so we went in. I love Torico's. They have everything you could possibly want or need. It's a very wonderful place, a nice change of pace from all the ice cream places popping up across the globe. My favorite city + an original and nostalgic ice cream parlor = Love

Review - Torico's has great homemade ice cream. They always have an abundant selection of various flavors, from the classic to the inventive. They have a lot of other selections as well to spice up your ice cream or for those who would rather get some other treat. The service is always incredibly friendly and efficient.

Review - The thought of going to Torico's after work is what got me through today. Best ice cream I've ever had, and the nicest people, too. It's a downtown JC gem.

Review - I REALLY wanted to love this place because of the great reviews it's gotten but I was really dissapointed. I tried the coffee royale, the pumpin, the blueberry cheesecake, and coconut joy (I went with a few people) and while it wasn't bad ice cream, it wasn't great.

This is an old-school, basic ice cream joint with no corporate slickness or crassness, no pretense or affectation. Just first-rate ice cream.
Torico's is the real deal. Support it in moderation.

Review - torico's is the best!!! my girlfriend and i got addicted last summer to the vanilla peanut butter, lychee, and coconut cream. we've been anxiously awaiting the upcoming ice cream season! highly recommended. : )

Review - This is a neighborhood gem. The ice cream flavor selection is unmatched. The milkshakes are my personal treatment of choice for a bad day. The ice cream is so rich it's easy to save on the cost by splitting a couple scoops with a friend. The best thing is the service though. A woman who often serves me (the owner maybe?) and a younger woman who may be her daughter epitomize friendly. They must have sweet ice cream running through their veins. Their smiles show just how happy their ice cream will make you!

Review - i've never had ice cream better than torico's -- and i've had a lot of ice cream! absolutely amazing flavors; always spot on quality. the atmosphere is pretty no frills, decor has much left to improve upon, but really, who cares when the ice cream is just this damn good?
p.s. -- yes, they are a little pricey, but has anyone noticed how expensive milk and milk products (i.e.-butter, cream, etc) have become in the past year?! that's the economy for you... you're gonna pay $5 for a tiny scoop of bad, overly sweetened, mass produced ice cream at ben and jerry's or maggie moo's anyway. you may as well spend the same amount of money for a generous amount of REAL quality, delicious ice cream from this little gem of a place!!!

Review - I hate this place. I must have gained 5 pounds since I first started eating here. And it's not bad enough that they make top notch ice cream, they also make the best ice cream sodas I've had anywhere.
Why couldn't they be a bland tasteless corporate machine like Cold Stone Creamery? Instead everyone is so friendly you feel like stopping in just to say hi and then walking out with several pints and a cone or soda.
For the sarcasm impaired - it's great, stop by if you haven't given them a try yet.

Review - This is such a wonderful place! It's been around for almost 30 years now...I've been coming here since I was a toddler! ALL their ice cream is HOMEMADE ... and delicious!! The service is great -- the last time I went there the friendly workers excitedly informed me that the number of homemade ice cream flavors was something upwards of 50! They have the traditional ice cream flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc..), exotic/tropical flavors (mango, guava, coconut, ube, lychee), and other unusual yet amazing flavors, like pumpkin, green tea, coffee cookies, and cinnamon. They have everything you could possibly imagine! And as it that's not enough, since the owner himself makes all the ice cream fresh in the store, you can request flavors. (He has been known to test out new flavors.) Amazing place...you just have to check it out! I guarantee you'll keep coming back for more ( like me!)
