Review - Great place. Just had my sister's bridal shower in their back room this weekend. Guests raved about the food (braised short ribs, salmon, and delicious pasta). Wendy, the event manager, was a pleasure to deal with and incredibly attentive. Waitstaff was always present but not intrusive. Decor is eclectic: Located across from City Hall, it's an old Savings & Loan that was renovated into a restaurant. Check out the huge round bank vault door and original hardwood floors. Plus the adjoining loft area allows for guests to overflow into another room overlooking the main restaurant. Can't wait to return.

Review - Went for the first time and sat at the bar. Service was great, food was great. I will definitely be back. The Merchant is a terrific find!

Review - I've been there twice. Food was ok, dessert was better. The service was terrible. They really should have a bread basket of sorts while you are waiting. For places that charge less, the give you alot more.

Review - Just went there for the first time and really really loved it! The atmosphere was very pleasing and the food was awesome!! the shortribs are to die for! didn't sit at the bar, but it looks like a great place for happy hour.

Review - I've been to the Merchant on several ocassions and have had a great experience each time. It is nice to just sit at the bar for drinks and appetizers, and it's also nice for lunch or dinner. The dinner menu is very reasonable and everything I've ever ordered has been great. Even better, they have a very affordable wine menu, and they give you a nice full glass. I will continue to go back.

Review - We've been to the Merchant a couple of times and always have left happy. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The service is always impeccable and the food has never been anything but top notch. We recently decided to try the brunch at this little gem and we were more then pleasantly surprised. It would be easy to say that this was the best breakfast (brunch) that we have ever had. Eggs Florentine were amazing (the hollandaise sauce was perfect) and the western omelette was impressive. The best part...the super yummy potatoes that come with every meal! We both had tea and the presentation (in a pot where you can press your own loose tea) was very fun. Wish I could give more stars...we love them!

Review - The food was AMAZING! The mac and cheese and the snapper were standouts. The service was inattentive and strange, our waiter ignored us all night and then told us that if we wanted dessert we had 2 minutes, needless to say we passed on what was probably a really good dessert. We will be back. He was so bad that the hostess took our orders! She was great!

Review - Very nice bar, good atmosphere and the food is a number of steps above bar food. I have always eaten at the bar which is quite pleasant and the bartenders have always been friendly. I have not eaten there as much as I would like because of the smoke, which should not be a problem soon when the NO-SMOKING BAN goes into effect in a few months. YAY for our legislators for passing the no-smoking ban.

Review - The food and drinks are great. The service is excellent. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I love that there is a place I can patronize right in my neighborhood. It can be both a friendly comfortable neighborhood bar for you, your mate and friends or a fabulous restaurant to take your date. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
