Review - I recently joined Empire against my husband's advice but it was close and convenient .....so far I have actually lost close to ten llbs ....The staff are polite and the gym is always clean ......I can only recommend ...

Review - Great gym, never crowded. I joined in November, the sales staff is very helpful. I get calls from the sales from the sales girl if she don't see me for awhile, very motavating. I also got a personal training session when i joined, great trainer. love the place

Review - I belonged to Empire for several years....mostly out of convenience because it was close to where I lived. When I moved out of town in November, they made me pay my monthly dues until February because they didn't receive my cancellation letter by Dec 1. There's a 30 notice, but not from any calendar day...it has to be from the first day of the month after they receive your notice. Wacky rules. Be careful what you sign with these people.

Review - The Hoboken, NJ branch of Empire Fitness Clubs is clean and has plenty of good equipment. However, my wife and I found it extremely crowded at most times and the gym seems too small for the ammount of people that attend. But more importantly the manager specifically told us that he would let us out of the contract if need be - and this was simply not true. Not only did Empire not let us out of our contract when we had to move, but the way they do business gives no rights to the members whatsoever. Read your contracts carefully, because you are given a 15 day window to submit a written notice of cancellation to their corporate office, or Empire will bill you the following month. I will never go to this gym again, and feel that they do not look out for their members and take advantage of them whenever possible. Two thumbs down. Thanks Empire.
