Review - Picolo's on Clinton Street is a slice of Classic Americana served authentic Hoboken, New Jersey style. Since 1955, this family owned and operated diner serves up the perfect Jersey style cheese steak sandwich. The marqui outside reads, Frank Sinatra -- All the Time. Want to request an alternative musical request?? Fuggettabouwdit! THe interior is quaint and small, with the obligatory Wall of Italian Americans peppered with autographed 8x10s of infuential and familial Italians. The white apron clad owner is always quick with his wit and warmly welcomes you to his kitchen. A short walk from Washington Street (known to the locals, but not the tourists). This place makes you feel proud to be American.

Review - The perfect lunch. A welcome greeting to you as you walk in. Notice the Frank Sinatra songs in the air as you pick fron one of the six small tables. Place and order, grab a soda or other beverage from the convenience store style glass fridge and have a seat at one of the six or so small tables. The open fry grill is busily attended by the owner and others clad in white hat and matching apron. He coaches baseball and wrestling to the youth and might still play softball. He loves to chat and everyone there seems to know him personally. The walls are covered with little framed pictures of pop culture's 20th Century Italian Americans with autographs. The food tastes greasy, but that is why you are here anyhow. If you are an out-of-towner, don't expect a lot of personal attention or service. Everyone else seems to know the drill (order here, pay here) and the conversation seems to be reserved for only those regulars that have been eating there since 1955. Food= what you would expect Prices= $3-$8 Decor= acceptable for a place this old Service= get your food to-go.
