Review - for dinner here last evening i had the best mariscada salsa verde i've had anywhere. i started my meal with white bean soup, very flavorful and included bits of pork and a leafy green veg, possibly escarole. the mariscada was cooked just right leaving the scallops, clams and mussels tender. the presentation was also different than i have encountered elsewhere. it was plated rather than served stew like in a pot. a large dessert cart was brought to the table in which there were about 10-12 different choices. i probably didn't make the best choice, a pignoli cake. a plain white layer cake with a vanilla custard/creme filling topped with nuts. the nuts had no flavor and had softened.
the staff was very attentive but at least one person spoke extremely limited english, even when referring to things on their menu. at one point my friend tried ordering a glass of red wine without success. there was also background music which could barely be heard but was loud enough to be annoying. it didn't seem to fit in this restaurant as it sounded turkish or middle eastern.
i give high marks for the food and take the rest in stride.

Review - I went there with my folks who came in to town. I had no idea what to expect, but was very pleasantly surpsired...the food was oustading, the sangrias were by far the best in Hoboken, the staff was very attentive (but not pushy) and Julio (not Enrique) Iglesias CD was softly playing in the background...I highly recommend this place. It's definitely a jewel!
