Review - Unfortunately, Jersey City has demonstrated itself as having the rudest, most difficult to reason with, tax collectors out of any state our agency is associated with. I give Jersey City Tax Collectors a 12 on account that 'sometimes' they answer their phone and provide partial information if pressured.

Review - If 0 was an option that is the review I would give. What type of government agency is this. Phone calls are not answered and when u finally get through to a representative they immediately transfer your call to a machine as if they don't even want to talk to anyone. There tax information is always inaccurate and they send delinquent notices when taxes have indeed been paid.

Review - The quarterly tax bills are always inaccurate. People in this office are rude over the telephone, perhaps in order to see if they can simply get the taxpayer to go away. In addition to being rude, the people you get on this phone number also tend to be both ignorant, and unhelpful. I called to find out my tax due and a half hour later called back again, spoke to another person, and got another figure. They've been advertising their website on the tax statements for nearly a year, and of course the site is not yet up. Jersey City property tax is among the highest in this State. I wish I had enough time and money to visit them in person each quarter with my lawyer and my banker, since I have very little faith in this system.
