Review - Retro Hair Studio is the best Salon and Spa I have been to, I am stuck there and staying there as long as they will have me. I will not trust my hair to anyone but Mary Alduey. Evelyn, Luz, Renata and the rest of the Retro Crew are also the best. These awesome ladies not only make me feel at home but are completely honest. Not only do they provide me with a relaxing atmosphere but also now have Retro Salsa Nites and other activities if your new in the neighborhood and want to participate in events or activities. I have fallen in Love with the place that makes me beautiful and hope to be a LifeLong Customer. Thank you Ladies and God Bless.

Review - Retro is the hottest place in Jersey City to fill all your beauty needs. I have been a satisfied customer for the last two years. After trying out almost all of the treatments, I have to say that the service has been more than perfect. I started with Rosa, but she relocated to Florida, so then I went to Lucy, who is wonderful for blow outs. She is courteous and friendly and NEVER in a bad mood. She also takes her time with you. Renata is also very nice and is great for manicure and pedicure. Mary, the owner, creates wonderful color and also has the magic touch with makeup. I hear Evelyn does a great job with her clients and everyone seems pleased. It was a blessing to walk in and find a one-stop place for beauty services from head to toe. From the outside the place looks expensive, but the prices are very reasonable. More importantly, the service and the final outcome is well worth it!

Review - I have been going to Evelyn at Retro Hair Studio for years. I LOVE HER!!!! She is professional without a B.S. attitude. She's always ready to take your appointment and always calls you back. I'm always happy with my hair.

Review - Although it looks like any other hair salon, Retro is THE place to go for facials and waxing. Mary, the owner and primary aesthetician is fantastic- make sure when you book your appointment, you make it with her. Unlike someone you suspect got a weekend diploma in skin care, she acts like a dermatologist. She gets a very detailed health history (including meds), reviews your pores under a magnifying glass and has referred me and another client to dermatologists after noting some moles she was concerned with. The hour facials are almost always 1+ hours and she doesn't put on masks and leave you until the clock runs down like in other places. There is also no push to buy product. Re: waxing- you can't get better than a woman who was certified and teaches speed waxing. Like with the facials, Mary's concerned about before and after and is very engaging throughout. I once had a haircut there and it was ok but I'd pass on the cut and go for another pedicure which lasted 1+ hours. The only problem is Retro doesn't have Pedicure stations so you soak in a foot massager and the water tends to cool off. But otherwise, there was alot of massaging and exfoliation involved and not the rough kind you get in Korean nail salons. Retro just had a renovation and they're still trying to mount fixtures etc., so don't get turned off by the incomplete look of the studio. It really is a place to try. I would've given them a 50 for customer service (Mary's a 50) but one employee neglected to pass on a message from me and then failed to block out enough time for another customer so I was left waiting 1/2 hour. Otherwise everyone was great.
