Review - I moved in November 2003; here are my comments:
1. Security Personnel may has well not be security. I've had friends come in a completely bypass security. Very easy to burglarize.
2. All equipment in apartment is cheap. Cheap drywall that knicks easily. Cheap telephone/tv jacks (I had to rewire all of them myself). Cheap floor that splinters easily (I can't have my baby crawl on it). All water piping is cheap PVC that broke on us several times.
3. Heaters are useless. Drafts are coming from windows, jacks and vents.
4. Loud inconsiderate neighbors.
5. Lots of dogs. Stepped in dog crap twice.
6. Mislead on parking situation. I was forced into buying a $150 monthly parking permit.
Upside:
1. Easy commute
2. Nice view
I am wavering on renewing my lease. In order to renew my lease, I would prefer to negotiate with them. If there is a rent increase, I am out of here. If they keep my rent constant and do something about the floors/heater, then I will stay.
Anyone have any experience on lease renewals? Any idea on what kind of stance they take on renewals??

Review - I LOVE the building. I find the doormen very nice, though often times don't actually open the door for you when it would be appropriate. I really enjoy the pool & gym, and area as well. However, we are FREEZING! We have purchased space heaters, heating units only give of lukwarm heat, turn on and off my themselves, and our heating bill jumped to $100 a month, and we continue to freeze. Have asked management to address, and have had to call 2x for heat to be fixed, don't know if it will work the 2nd time. Walls are paper thin, and can hear neighbors conversations and tv shows easily. I don't find dogs to be a problem, and think the view is to die for. Get ready to FREEZE!!!

Review - I agree with everyone else on the heating...its just pathetic! Its on all day on high and the apt is still freezing cold! I happen to like dogs but the smell of dog pee all over is just getting to me now! I think rather than controlling the number of pets if they did something abt maintaining the place better it would help! Also mgt needs to be more strict abt pet-owners cleaning up after their pets and keeping them leashed in the lobby atleast!! Upside: beatiful lobby, excellent location, great view, nice gym.

Review - My husband and I have been living here for almost a year and not planning to renew. We have not had a problem with neighbor noise, but it does get FREEEEEZING in the apt during the winter. We can have the heat blasting on high for hours and nothing but loud, cold air comes out. Our electric bills have been ridiculous and we thought living in NYC was expensive. They increased the rent for some tenants and not for others. When I went to go speak to management about it, they just gave me some excuse about how certain months present different offers. I was really disappointed with their lack of effort to keep their residents once the lease is signed. When we first signed the lease a year ago, they asked if we had contacted any of their competitors in the area. We told them not yet and was presented with a rent offer that was only good if we signed that night.

Review - Heating in the apartment sucks and you still have to pay a ton in the winter for the Electric Bill. Rent should not go up due to this fact. Other than that, place is great place to live. Need to do something to fix the heating and make the electric bills cheaper.

Review - i am surprised at the reviews the building has received so far. i have lived there for almost a year and i love it. the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. i will definitely make a point of discussing my heating bill with the management if it's over $200/month. we have two dogs - i think you must be a dog-lover to live in this building. all of the people that don't like animals will have no problem finding a pet-free building in the area. hint, hint.

Review - This place sucks you in with amenities such a gym, business center, satellite and internet access. Then reality hits. The electric bills are crazy. I paid over $400/month and still me and my children froze. They had the wrong cheap equipment for the job. Their attempts at repair and replacement solved NOTHING. The water was brown on a number of occasions when I was about to give my kid a bath. The apartments are oddly shaped and small. I've noticed a lot of press for the buildings in the Times and how the area is hip and up and coming. The perfect alternative to NY prices etc. Well those pretty windows bring nothing but cold and the insulation was pathetic. I'm glad I moved out. They built it cheaped but put a pretty face on a piece of crap. The only thing it did have going for it was near the light-rail. I didn't like the gym being unattended. No security around. Only a few of the doormen seemed professional to me. But you can find them chumming with folks, eating lunch at the front desk and letting folks roam. Management tries to respond but it is a no win situation.
I was so unhappy here that I broke my lease to get out asap. It costed an arm and a leg but it was worth it. I'm a lot happier now.

Review - awful place to live. I feel the same way about my baby crawling on the floor, the cheap wood floors are chipping and and we are getting splinters.
Electric bill was over 300 all winter, and the apt was still freezing. Got 2 space heaters, didn't help much
WILL NOT RENEW! DOESN'T SEEM LIKE ANYONE ELSE IS EITHER Lot of people leaving.
Way too many dogs, the elevator always stinks of pee
Lobby and elevators smells awful on most Monday mornings because garbage doesn't get taken out on weekends.
Prices are still going up, no breaks on renewal, can't wait to leave in Dec when my lease is up.
People still moving in, they're impressed with the lobby.
